ABOUT THE FOUNDER AND ARTIST

In 2021 Mrs. Breen officially began her own art company, “The Gallery Chick”, where she strives to provide unique one of a kind multi-media paintings as well as provide specialty services for the Fine Art industry.

Her art specialty is a process she has strived to perfect over the past 6 years; mixed media paintings created within multiple layers of fiberglass.

As the viewer approaches a painting, one will see thought provoking and captivating imagery as well as a certain “depth” tangible as well as intangible. Scenes are digitally collaged and designed in the hope of story telling, always seeking to connect our ancestoral history and the present day. Ms. Breen hopes the viewer will connect to their own history or memory as well as showcasing how all of humankind is profoundly interconnected from birth to death.

Imagery seen is inspired by 100+ year old vintage photos and will contain Ms. Breens original photography from the present. Again trying to visually connnect our past to today.. Ms. Breen accurately describes her collection THE CONTEMPORARY PAST

The paintings are truly “mixed media” as they contain up to 10 different mediums. Included but not limited to : photography, pure pigment, acrylic, ink, charcoal etc.

Christi-”As a native of New Orleans, I am inspired by memories of the south as well as my experiencess up north.

The “Gallery Chick’s” style consists  of a variety of old techniques along with contemporary innovative ones.

Breaking boundaries of traditional methods of art is my passion. Backgrounds and surfaces are achieved by combining several unconventional media and allowing their chemical properties to interact. the goal is to achieve an atmosphere that is lavish & etherial creating a contemporary contrast to otherwise representational imagery.”

Mrs. Breen (aka The Gallery Chick) is native to New Orleans, LA and holds a Degree in Fine Arts from Louisiana State University/Baton Rouge.  For the past 25 years her professional experience spans the realms of fine art. They include; Senior Art Consultant for Angela King Gallery located on historic Royal Street, New Orleans, LA; Senior Art Consultant/Curator for Jamali NYC Gallery located in SoHo, Manhattan; Gallery Director at Wentworth Galleries-New York, where she specialized in the art of Peter Max; Director of Framed Art for commercially successful brands such as Bed, Bath and Beyond, Kohl's, and Target. Specializing in Contemporary Art, she dedicates herself to her clients, wholeheartedly, providing beautiful unique fine art as well as providing superior customer service. After many years spent in NYC, she returned to her beloved New Orleans and is always eager to share her art and expertise with you.
